As part of a plan to transform the former Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort into its new-look Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Atlantic City, American casino operator Hard Rock International has reportedly submitted an application that would bring a gas station to the Atlantic City venue.
According to a Friday report from The Press of Atlantic City newspaper, March saw the Seminole Tribe of Florida-owned Hard Rock International spend $50 million in order to purchase the bankrupt Boardwalk property and wo 7BALL CX rkers have been toiling since July to remove the onion domes and ruby-red minarets that once dominated the building’s facade.
The newspaper reported that Orlando-based Hard Rock International has now asked the Land Use Division of New Jersey’s Casino Reinvestment Development Authority for permission to bring a franchise of its Rockstop Gas and Wash complete with gasoline pumps, a convenience store and a car wash to the site on the corner of Pacific Avenue and South Virginia Avenue. The operator purportedly opened its inaugural gas station outside the Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park in June while its Atlantic City petition is to be considered as part of a hearing on December 21.
“The gas station is just one of many exciting things to come,” Liz Thomas, a spokesperson for lead Hard Rock International investors Joe Jingoli and Jack Morris, reportedly told The Press of Atlantic City. “We’re so pleased to partner with Hard Rock [International] during this renaissance in Atlantic City that wouldn’t be happening without the cooperation and support of the state of New Jersey.”
The newspaper reported that Hard Rock International expects to open the refurbished Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Atlantic City in the summer with the new-look venue creating work for approximately 3,000 people along with some 1,000 construction jobs.
